You move to make music. Most musicians know this, but haven’t thought a lot about HOW they move. They imagine the sounds they want to make, but they don’t imagine how they should move in order to best make those sounds.
So how DO you train movement for music? It’s best to train movement with an accurate understanding of how the whole body supports everything we do as musicians. When we begin to train movement this way, then we begin to have the freedom to play as expressively as we can imagine.
